Auckland’s Global Talent Challenge event offers you the chance to practice applying your skills across a simulated graduate recruitment experience, gain access to senior leaders and connect with top employers.
Apart from ultimate bragging rights for your CV as winners of the Global Talent Challenge 2019, the winning teams on the Challenge Day will receive prizes worth up to $3,000, including a coaching package and a fun-filled day discovering the Hauraki Gulf!
This is a unique opportunity only open to international students. An opportunity for you to be recognised for your achievements, prepare for the world of work and network with New Zealand employers.
You do not have to be an A+ student to enter. We are looking for well-rounded applicants and want to hear about your work experience, activities and interests alongside your academic achievements.

If you’re studying science, then this is the category for you!
Must be studying and/or majoring in a degree in Science and/or majoring in a science subject. This category does not include the social sciences.
BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT
If business, commerce and entrepreneurship is your thing, then this is the category for you!
Must be studying and/or majoring in a Bachelor or Master of Business /Commerce /Management or students majoring in Economics or Finance.
If you’re all about how things are designed, built and operate, then this is the category for you!
Must be studying and/or majoring in an engineering discipline.
If you’re all about caring for people, identifying the right talent and developing them, then this is the category for you!
Must be studying in a Bachelor or Master of Business/Management and majoring in Human Resources or Employment Relations.
IT & DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

The Global Talent Challenge is about more than just good grades. Before you start filling out the application form, think about what makes you a great all-rounder. We want to see what makes you, you.
Do you play sports?
Are you involved with student societies or clubs?
Have you won previous awards?
Have you done any volunteer work?
What are your key accomplishments?
Double-triple-quadruple check your application before pressing “Submit”!
Make sure you fill out every part of the application form, including the upload of your academic transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t have an official copy of your transcript, a screenshot of your grades is also acceptable.
Once we’ve received your application we start the reviewing process. If you make it to the next round you’ll be sent a link to complete some online testing. Take your time with this - find a quiet spot without any distractions to make sure you give it your best shot!
After submitting your application and completing the psychometric testing, the next stage of the process is a video interview, where you’ll be asked to answer three questions. Here are a few things to consider for your video interview:
What you’re wearing (think: interview appropriate attire).
Check your computer’s camera and microphone before you start.
Relax and be yourself!

Make sure you answer all of the questions and upload a copy of your academic transcript when prompted. You will need a copy of your CV. If you don’t have a formal copy of your academic transcript, a screenshot of your results is also acceptable.
Applicants must be in their second year of study or higher, and preferably, be studying and/or majoring in one of the categories above.
Applicants must be enrolled in a New Zealand degree-level qualification (Bachelors level or higher) as at 30th September 2019.
Applicants must be available to attend a full day assessment centre (if required) on 30th September 2019.
